We had another short week, thanks to President’s Day on Monday. Before I get to the lunches, I wanted to say that I know there’s been a dearth of “real food” entries on the blog lately. With the boys’ school and activities, tutoring two afternoons a week, and a steady stream of Saucy Mommy orders (thank you to my clients!), I’ve been slacking on trying out new recipes. I can’t make any promises about new recipes in the coming few weeks because I’m gearing up for several St. Patrick’s Day and Easter baking extravaganzas, but after March is over, I’ll be adding back in some actual recipe posts! Thank you for being patient with me in the meantime. 🙂
Here’s what the boys brought to school this week:
Tuesday was the 100th Day of School for Jack, so I made him a special 100th Day lunch in our PlanetBox.
He had a PB&J sandwich (made with one slice of wheat and one slice of white bread) with a “100” cutout, yellow pepper strips, Pirate Booty, strawberries, and a small square of Cadbury caramel milk chocolate. Yes, I know, the “100” is off center, but spatial relationships are not my strong suit!
Speaking of the 100th Day of School, I don’t remember it being a big deal (or any deal) when I was in school! These lucky kids — they have something to celebrate at school every month!
Wednesday, Derek stayed at preschool for lunch. I made him a “lunchables” lunch in an EasyLunchbox.
The box held Ritz crackers and sunburst-shaped cheddar cheese, deli chicken meat, cucumber slices, strawberries, and Goldfish.
The same day, Jack brought leftover pasta with homemade meat sauce, along with some clementine wedges arranged around a cherry tomato.
Thursday, Jack was supposed to bring this lunch in his PlanetBox, but he had a low fever in the morning, so Johnny brought it to work instead:
The lunch had chicken deli meat, grape tomatoes, crackers, cheese, deviled eggs, and a few pieces of candy.
Friday, Derek stayed for lunch and brought a shamrock PB&J, cucumbers, tomatoes, Goldfish, and strawberries, plus a mini Oreo in a PlanetBox.
Enjoy the weekend, everyone!
