We’re in full crazytown mode at our house — it’s a good crazy, but with the last few weeks of the school year, my sister’s upcoming wedding (only eight more days to go!), prepping for our vacation, and busy work schedules, I haven’t put much thought into the boys’ lunches. They’re probably not worth blogging about at this moment, but in the spirit of being transparent and not just showing off my “best” lunches, I’m doing it anyway. 😉
Monday, Jack brought roast beef on Hawaiian sandwich bread, berries, and Cheese Nips in an EasyLunchbox.
Tuesday, I packed a PlanetBox for Jack with ham-and-tortilla roll-ups, yellow bell peppers, some left over salt and vinegar chips, apple wedges, mangoes, and a handful of candies from the Japanese store. They melt in your mouth and come in fruit flavors. I think these were peach ones.
Wednesday, Jack had dinosaur PB&Js, strawberries, and as a treat, a homemade cheesecake brownie.
Thursday, I didn’t make a school lunch because Jack stayed home with a stomach bug. 😦 It was one of those 24-hour things, but he started vomiting Wednesday night, so I kept him home on Thursday in an effort to contain the germs and not get everyone else sick!
Today, Jack’s buying lunch at school, but I packed Derek a lunch to take to preschool. I was kind of short on supplies, so in his PlanetBox were three wedges of cheese quesadilla, two Fig Newtons, apple wedges, and a Chobani strawberry greek yogurt tube. Yes, yes, I know — those are tubes full of sugar, but desperate times call for desperate measures!
Even though all of these lunches were super simple and nothing to write home about (except maybe Tuesday’s … the pinwheels are kind of pretty), the containers they were in added some visual appeal. That’s what I love about EasyLunchboxes and PlanetBox — they really make packing lunch a no-brainer!
OK, off to get ready for a fun day and weekend ahead. June and Charles arrive tonight, then the countdown to their wedding is really on! See you next Friday!
