TGIF! Lunch and Snack Round-Up for 12/10-12/14

The countdown to winter break begins! Only seven more days until relaxation time. 🙂 Here’s what was in the snack and lunch bags this week — a little lackluster because I spent most of my spare evening time making 100 cake pops and 11 gift baskets! In fact, I forgot to take pictures of Monday’s food altogether, so we’re starting on Tuesday.

Tuesday’s snack was apple “fries” (what the kids call apples when I cut them into strips) and strawberrries.

Lunch was a snowman roast chicken sandwich, tangerine wedges, strawberries, and pita chips.

Wednesday’s snack was an apple. Lunch was leftover beef and veggie soup, with a side container of snowflake Ritz crackers and a Babybel cheese.

Thursday’s snack was mangoes and pretzels.

Lunch was pasta with homemade meat sauce, with a side of mangoes and cucumber sticks.

Jack’s buying lunch today, but Derek’s staying for lunch. I made him some PB&J reindeer sandwich balls (you use a round cutter or a glass to cut circles out of bread, put a dab of peanut butter and jelly in the middle, then place the circle of bread, filling side up, on a piece of plastic wrap in your palm, and scrunch up the bread, using the plastic wrap, until it’s a ball). I used pretzels for antlers (just break pretzel twists in half, and stick the broken end into the ball), raisins for eyes, and M&Ms for the noses, with cream cheese to stick the features onto the sandwich. Some tangerine wedges round out the meal.
